First, a note to say thank you so much to everyone who took the time to read, send me a note, or shared with a friend after the first letter went out.
Last week, I celebrated my birthday. I found myself feeling kind of weird about it. Thirty felt like a fun and sexy milestone to celebrate, but thirty-one was closing in on me with…a specific feel. It was freaking me out.
Regardless, the day came (did I mention there was an earthquake) and instead of being a loser about it…I leaned in. I spent the day doing the things I always tell myself I’ll make time for, and never do.
I started with a window shop, and took myself to Balthazaar for a late lunch, where they graciously send all solo diners a glass of champagne, gratis. The energy in there (considering it was 2 PM) was wild.
I ordered a nicoise (extra anchovy) and when I looked over…I found that I was sitting next to the incredibly charming and hilarious Raven Smith, and his husband. I love him! And his memes! He sweetly wished me a happy birthday and told me my order was chic.
We exchanged notes on le earthquake. He mentioned he was in town for a wedding (further recon revealed it was BA alum, Andy Baraghani’s) AND that he was with Chris Black that morning — of How Long Gone — one of my favourite podcasts. By this point, my dopamine was through the roof. When New York is good…damn, it’s good.
Shop Talk
The reason I was in Soho in the first place was so I could finally visit Bomi, a new (ish) multi-brand shop nestled in a second floor studio on Mercer. I’ve been following along online since they opened a couple months ago.

The space is meticulously curated in a way that feels elevated, but still approachable. In other words…I would happily own one of everything. Think vintage lamps (also for sale) alongside inviting dishware and playful home objects — like these cord covers I’m completely obsessed with.

There’s a beautiful selection of jewelry from the likes of Corali, to Sisi Joía. Minimal self-care favourites Lesse, F.Miller, and Acca Kappa line the walls. Everyday basics from Baserange and Kye Intimates are accented with Porto Studio — butter soft leather pouches crafted in Italy.

I was lucky enough to catch Bomi, the shop owner, for a quick chat. She explained she’s always been passionate about curating and collecting. Once she landed her (killer) space, it was time to take the leap. It’s clear she cares deeply about each brand she’s brought together in the space, and the way they compliment one another.
We discussed how supportive and encouraging her experience has been as a new retailer so far, from the partner side (many of her stockists are fellow female founders) through to the community she’s building. I loved hearing that.

If you find yourself in Soho in need of some inspiration, a beautiful gift for a loved one, or somewhere drop to in and discover something new — Bomi is your spot. You can find them on instagram here. Let me know if you go visit!
Five Things
Everyone’s talking about Still Here, especially since the new summer collection just dropped. A recent edition of
reported co-founders, Sonia and Maurice, want to build the brand to become the next Gap. (!)I saw Jenna Lyons in the wild this week. Looking effortless and stupidly cool walking her dog…because…of course she did. I’m going to see her speak with Fern Mallis at the Fashion Icon series next week. Will report back!
- is one seriously one of my favourite places on the internet right now. If you’re not in on it yet…highly reccomend.
Custom monogramming is everywhere lately. From L.L. Bean totes, to The Millennial Decorator’s cosmetic pouches. Can’t forget the mecca — Officine Universelle Buly — where most grooming tools they offer can be personalized. (I want the lip balm) There’s just something luxe about seeing your initials on an otherwise practical object, y’know?
Worlds collided when I saw Davide Baroncini and Action Bronson hanging out in Chicago recently. Hope they filmed a new F*ck, That’s Delicious episode together…
Ciaooooooooooooooooooooooo,
S x
LOVE this. And omg why is everything about Davide so damn endearing?!
