Summer MVP's: Le Heatwave Edition
sweaty intel incoming
I’ve just gone on holiday in Paris/Rome where both cities experienced record-breaking temps. Below is a special Heatwave dispatch of my Summer MVP’s — that’s Most Valuable Pieces
Unprecedented heat in a city environment brings out what I can only call a….unique…. feral energy. And when you’re on vacation, Doing Stuff in extreme heat might just be the equivalent of a lobotomy, I think. You must conserve all energy for walking, meals (DIET COKE. EXTRA ICE.), being periodically blasted with AC at various art exhibitions (the ones that have it..!), and precious shopping decisions.
Every summer, I feel more instinctive about what I actually like wearing in the heat. Last year, I made a shortlist of the things I kept reaching for to over a very sweaty July. Now, some new (and some returning) observations of my most worn items through le canicule…1
Tops !
Petit Bateau tank set — shortened to the correct length as I suffer with STS2. Ultra light, not too clingy, strappy strap. I also love them layered together
A vintage graphic tee comes through, always. I packed two of my best recent scores: ‘Le Club’ (eBay) and my most favourite racing red Alfa Romeo. (Mothfood, the best!)
Leandra Medine Cohen convinced me on the All Three Kristen tank. Arguably became even better once I laundered it at my hotel in Rome and it came back smelling so incredible…achingly white and crisp…I almost fell over.
I’ve talked about it before, I am a silly little simp for a St. Agni Tee Specifically, the Organic Cotton Baby Tee. I wear a small for a ‘perfect’ fit. I also have an XL for slouchy needs, bought on a whim (look for them on sale!) but worn endlessly. (this one is 30% off right now)
Bottoms !
Matteau Drawcord Pants are my crispy, no brainer base layer (when it was ‘cool’ enough for pants………….I digress)
ANYTHING! Brooke! Callahan! — Tie Skirt is heatwave proof. It’s science, actually (now stocked at SSENSE! go Brooke!!!!!)

This Mijeong Park wrap skirt prompted a deep dive into this new-to-me LA based brand. AMAZING for slinky sex appeal with very little effort, shifting easy from AM to PM. Still available in white! I wear an XS, fit is generous. I also love this version.
Shoes !
Vast room for improvement in this department…here’s what worked:
Peche Kika Flats — a year over year M.V.P in this category. They honestly continue to shock and amaze with durability/wearability
Porselli Ballet Flats over Repetto because they hold their shape properly and I prefer the silhouette. WE’RE TALKING FLATS SPECIFICALLY, Camille Girls don’t come for me!!!
Cutie Gewls ‘Chiara’ Kitten Heel that deserved more airtime, honestly

Accessories !

The Valesque Spaghetti Tote is one of the most practical, good looking items I’ve purchased in a very long time. I’m so sorry it’s sold out right now, but I’m sure it’ll come back. Kep your eyes peeled! Similar idea here
I also rotated in my Porto Pouch in soft white nappa, and a OneOf silk pouch in a silky citrine (pictured above with slinky skirt outfit <3)
Plus, five things I bookmarked and would’ve loved to have after unpacking and running through my post-mortem-outfit-review:
(01) Aeyde sandals…which actually, I bit the bullet on after finding them half off on SSENSE. I wore them every day this week
(02)This silk mini from Elif (hot on my radar) for the party Lauren brought us to in Paris where we smoked cigarettes indoors and I studied various Hot French Creative Types
(03) Another All Three tank, in black
(05) Sisi Joia necklace for a little visual interest with a plain tank (Elissa Suh inspired this)

If you buy something on my recommendation, I may earn a small commission (at no cost to you)
What are your heatwave MVPs? Do you have summer shoe wisdom for me? Let’s gossip in the comments about it over some Bibi Flash xoxoxoxo
that’s heatwave in French, lol
Short Torso Syndrome

Need everything!! The Le Club shirt is iconic…
Omg my now four pairs of Brooke Callahans are basically all I wear in the heatwave.
ALSO - Eagerly awaiting your report back on the laundry situation in Italy because in England we may as well be living in the stone ages as far as laundry is concerned!!!!
