3 outfits I felt hot in on vacation

Buongiorno.

I write to you (just lightly depressed) following a deeply healing vacation to Italy. Being a full bodied Italian, having the chance to spend time there is such a privilege. The people! The absurd level of beauty everywhere you look! The lust for life…I could cry.

Ischia, one of the most picturesque places I’ve ever been, was our first stop. My husband hired a vespa so we could hop around the island quick and easy during our stay. I was hesitant…until I got on it.

Turns out, this sh*t is in my blood.

spoiler: nothing I wore hit this hard

Figuring out what to wear each night with…a open air motor vehicle thrown in the mix… quickly became my most anticipated evening task. I deemed it a delicate balance of pragmatism (due to variables like…wind and helmet hair), with a sustained d-i-v-a energy. We’re channeling Bellucci, Loren, Miss Vitti, okai? Getting on a vespa to dinner in a sexy little outfit is a power move.

This may be my #1 outfit of 2025, no less. Vintage Gucci shirt—found at Lara Koleji. (Similar here and here) Best summer trousers from Christopher Esber (as discussed…I pray they make a comeback). Vintage Cynthia Rowley sandals found at Kalimera, their shoe selection is v good. The Row 90s bag.

Felt like a lady — slight concern over skirt RE: wind, but we did just fine. Kye Intimates Bateau Neck Top (best basic I’ve ever owned). Thrifted Anne Taylor skirt — had it tailored to remove the waistband, now it’s perfect. (Similar Ralph for $34!) Sandals again. Beloved eBay bangle. (Similar) Chimi Sunnies.

Aaaaand Runner Up:

I had to cling to my shoes for dear life with this one, but I still liked it. Los Angeles Apparel tank (my church), Brooke Callahan capris, St. Agni wedges (similar, same style on TRR), eBay bangle (another), vintage beaded bag from my Nonna <3

• Visit a thermal park or terme spa — we went to Giardini Poseidon (thank you lovely Nora for the rec <3) I had one of the best naps of my life that day.

• Trattoria Il Foccolare, an institution! Special family history, and a must visit for coniglio all’Ischitana

• Mezzatorre for aperitivo and incredible views¹

• A visit to the castle for a walk at sunset

Truly paradise. I’m sure we only scratched the surface this trip, so if you have, send some recommendations my way, because I plan on being back…subito.
